<p>A guided creative writing workshop that takes about 45 - 60 minutes, depending on how you run it. Students are guided through writing with the emphasis on using senses, thoughts and feelings. The basic idea can be adapted to any type of writing and works with just about any age group. Students end up with a piece of writing that they feel really proud of, which is great for a number of reasons!</p>
<p>Use either during or after reading, or both. This ppt looks closely at the arrival of the cousins scene, relationships between characters, atmosphere etc.</p>
<p>This power point takes students through the creation of mood boards for film, including a discussion of how mise en scene can provide codes, symbols and metaphors. Probably a 45 minute presentation that sets students up for making their own mood board for their own film.</p>
<p>To get students to formulate their ideas for their film project clearly. They are required to present their idea with details of mise en scene etc.</p>
<p>An introduction to Duffy’s ‘Salome,’ using Wilde’s play and the biblical story as context. You will need students to have access to the play, which is available online. This is a great way to teach context and discuss Duffy’s use of intertextuality.</p>
<p>This is a really lovely novel for year 9 - 10 students or lower level Y11. I’ve put together all the comprehension tasks which check for understanding and some activities, including cloze, diary extract etc. The work culminates with a character perspective task. In all, a complete unit of work in about 17 pages.</p>
