<p>In response to Year 9 moaning about poetry being boring, I decided to show them how important, relevant and current poetry can be by addressing artists they are familiar with.<br /> This resource aims to analyse a poem by Tupac, helping students to build their skills in analysing unseen poetry.</p>

<p>In response to Year 9 moaning about poetry being boring, I decided to use material that they would recognise as being relevant, current and familiar.<br /> That way my students would then understand the significance and impact of poetry. I also wanted to debunk the myth the songs they were listening to weren’t poetry, that in fact every day they were using poetry analytical skills.</p> <p>This resource helps students to analyse Stormzy’s lyrics for 100 Bags, using a small extract, modified to make it age appropriate for classroom use.</p>
