EPQ templates, resources and guidance pack

This resource pack contains all of the structures, tools and guidance that course coordinators, mentors and students require to successfully deliver the EPQ programme in 2025 in a streamlined and stress-free manner. These collective documents have been honed over the course of two academic years to create a system which flows with minimal input from staff while delivering high-quality results.

Included in this pack are the following items:

EPQ table task list document
Comprehensively breaks down every form and section contained within the Production Log down into approximately eighty mini-tasks that students can easily and simply work through at their own pace one by one to reach their own end goal.

An EPQ essay and Production Log guidance document
More than 7000 words of specific guidance which explains each of the circa eighty mini-tasks, designed to structure the Production Log, in specific detail.

An essay template
This resource is contained within the first two resources (the scaffold is in Document one and the wider information and guidance is contained within Document two.) This essay template breaks down every essay sub-section into simple, chronological questions for the student to answer.

A presentation template
This presentation template clearly sets out each slide for student’s EPQ presentations, which is a requirement of the course (they must deliver a presentation to satisfy the criteria.)

A student progress tracker spreadsheet
This tracker allows co-ordinator’s or mentors to stay up-to-date with the work of each student by filling in a simple grid system.

A bank of supervisor comments for each section which requires staff input
The Production Log requires a number of entries from supervisors or co-ordinators throughout the EPQ process. A bank of suggestions has been neatly laid out in this resource, so that instead of spending hours writing bespoke advice about each student’s project the co-ordinator just needs to select relevent suggestions and feedback in each instance from the available bank.
