Lesson for year 8 French, based on Expo 2 Rouge.<br />
In the starter activity students have to write the correct phrase under each picture. You can use this slide to introduce the vocabulary.<br />
After, students practise the pronunciation of the new vocabulary playing Beat the Teacher.<br />
After playing Beat The Teacher, use a soft ball to ask students: comment dit on sweets and chocolates en francais? (AFL) Then encourage students to say full sentences, for example: J'achete des bonbons et des chocolats, etc.<br />
Reading activity: students read the text and answer the questions (general reading comprehension)<br />
Extension: they underline time phrases in the text.<br />
After answering the questions in English, students find the sentences in French in the text.<br />
Focus on grammar point: avoir besoin de. Let the students work in pairs and work out the grammar rule.<br />
Now it's time to put the vocabulary they have learnt into practice by doing a speaking activity in which students assess each other (peer assessment).<br />
