Three differentiated word problem worksheets about probability. Many cross topic links in questions of HA sheet, involving knowledge of angles, triangles etc. Hope it is useful as I struggled to find many resources with word problems for children to apply their probability knowledge to.

Roman Medicine. Writing as a Doctor

In this lesson (two lessons combined), children will look at some common Roman illnesses and learn a little about how the Romans believed to cure such ailments. They will arrange the ailment, Roman ‘cure’ and modern day cure to show their understanding before moving on to becoming Roman Doctors themselves. They ‘receive’ letters from patients in peril, and, as Doctor Decius, write a response as to what the patient should do.

The resources include: matching activity, letters from four patients, a writing frame for least able for each letter, a letter template for the more abled writers for each letter (I will have the very able write their own response from scratch), and a vocabulary list and sentence starter ideas. The slides to correspond with the resources are also included.

You can use the lesson how you wish, but I plan to use this in a rotation basis, where the children move around the room and write their short responses to each patient.
