SILVER
Support parents to be involved with the curriculum with these challenges. Initially developed for a Primary School but the idea and challenges could be adapted for secondary or nursery. Twelve challenges are set at each level and families are asked to complete ten in order to receive a rosette. When each level is completed the family are invited into the school to receive a bronze, silver gold rosette. The challenges are linked to Curriculum for Excellence Health and Wellbeing and include tasks incorporating; Mental and Emotional Wellbeing(MEW), Nutritional Wellbeing (NW), Social Wellbeing(SW), Physical Wellbeing (PW) and Keeping Safe (KS).
The introductory flier is also available for download and you just have to put in your school details. Great for building partnerships which link directly with the Scottish Curriculum.

Literacy tasks linked to reading are listed on the rungs of a rope ladder. As the child completes each task they colour in the ladder. I made this as a homework task requesting one activity be chosen and completed each week. many of the activities are linked to Literacy Circle tasks.

Laminate sheet and cut into four. Fold between the heads. Children collect and stand on their desk when they are going to the toilet. I only have one boy and one girl card out at a time.

Powerpoint starts with 3 slides of a bench which has been improved upon in real life. Children then think, discuss and look at the pictures of bus shelters. They then have to design their own and label it. Then make it from junk. Share. Make changes.
You will need lots of junk in particular transparent tubs i.e. cartons used for grapes.
This is a list of activities for teaching word processing skills. I use this as an introduction to word processing. Tasks are easily differentiated as children can do more e.g. lots of different sizes and fonts etc OR target could be to change their name into 5 different fonts.
I put in class names down the left and date under each section when child has demonstrated they can use each toolbar.
Short worksheet for each stage in the school.
Children make a response after watching a school assembly.
Addressing Significant Aspects of learning in Curriculum for Excellence for Religious and Moral Education (RME) Learning FROM Religion and Learning ABOUT Religion.
For P4 and up I stick into the inside cover of the RME jotter and children answer the questions each time they return from watching an RME assembly presentation.
