Behaviour Management: A guide to dealing with challenging behaviour in Secondary

(0)
Obviously the first port of call when dealing with any challenging behaviour is to follow the school's behaviour management policy. This resource provides a step by step guide to having the difficult conversation that follows a behaviour incident in a way that maintains the emotional well-being of both the teacher and the student (without the teacher having to resort to shouting) that can be adapted to any school's behaviour policy. Self esteem raising display

This is a nice resource that can be used to increase the self esteem of every child in the class. Each child is given a butterfly cage with their name on. The teacher begins by giving each child a strength of theirs to stick in to their butterfly cage (doc 3 includes butterflies with strengths), over time you then encourage children to add strengths for one another and finally to come up with strengths for themselves. Can be used to create a nice wall display.
