Full lesson as introduction to electrolysis theory. There is a foundation and higher worksheet - this lesson is only on molten electrolysis and links back to understand of ions and also of extracting metals from C5. Suitable for double or triple chemistry

Full lesson on half-life - suitable for combined or triple science - higher or foundation. You will require 4/5 dice per students for the experiment to work. Students will plot a line graph so you will also need graph paper. (This could be a good marking point). There is a worksheet for students to complete to help them practice how to workout half-life from a graph and then also some practice calculation questions.

Full lesson with exam question practice. Suitable for foundation or higher (combined or triple) I would usually teach P7.4 prior to P7.3 - students find it easier to understand the concepts of decay equations once they have learnt the types of radiation. Recap proton, neutron and electron chemistry on whiteboards before moving into main content.

AQA chemistry paper 2 final revision based on the advanced information - revise content and then exam question practice based on these (could be done on whiteboards or in books). This would be useful to use in final lessons before exams.

Useful resource on exam technique - also covers maths skills. Covers: command words, using marks, reading questions, how to answer formula questions, scientific terms, percentages, means, sig figs and variables. I would use this before any year 11 exam but can be used with any year group for exam prep.

Full lesson which covers the required practical electrolysis. Suitable for double or triple science - but will need adjusting for foundation classes as it contains questions on half equations. Super fun revision lesson. 8 relay tasks - I would set class into groups and they have to complete each task correctly before moving onto the next. Usually would provide a prize of some kind for the fastest group. I would usually let them use their notes. Tasks cover the main learning objectives of the topic. Tasks usually take 30-40 minutes - I have previously let them make mindmaps before starting or use their knowledge organisers. There is also an exam question with MS I would usually give as a starter or plenary.

Lesson for C5.3 Extracting methods - there are two practicals included (extracting iron from match head or standard carbon reduction of copper oxide - if you have a good group you can do both; different types of progress checks which can be done in books or whiteboards; there is a feedback slide from previous lesson (conclusions of displacement reactions) Suitable for triple or combined science

This is a complete lesson (might be run over two lessons) for the required practical making a salt. First the lesson goes through naming salts with lots of progress checks, then practical is introduced, students have to identify risks and draw equipment diagrams, there are also conclusion slides, finishing with exam questions practice - (there are varying difficulty dependent on ability of class - these could be printed and teacher/self/peer assessed)

Full lesson suitable for combined or triple science. Starter with recap from last lesson - students to draw atom (this could be teacher assessed) some videos and a task on the history of the atom - there is optional information hunt if you prefer something different to videos; card sort of Rutherfords experiment which can be extended to adding descriptions, followed by exam question and mark scheme is on powerpoint

Full lesson which is suitable for either combined or triple physics. Contains a prior knowledge check on whiteboards, link to pHet simulation to help understand concept of unstable atoms and number of protons (remember to tick unstable), video of types of radiation, I would usually demo the geigercounter to show background radiation and a progress check.
