'Your Fantastic Elastic Brain’ is a fun and engaging book in which children can learn about the vast capabilities of the brain, and how we all have the ability to stretch and grow our own brains to create the happiest, healthiest human being possible! The book also delivers crucial information about the anatomy and basic functions of the brain, in a graphic and interesting way, and conveys the important message that making mistakes is a positive thing in learning. I created this scheme of work as a follow up for teachers after reading the book in class, with a lesson plan per year group from reception to year 6, where students can reflect on the messages conveyed in the book, and how they could use the insightful information from the book in their own lives. Also available to accompany this powerpoint -1 lesson per year group for years reception to year 6 with 3 activities (starter, main activity, plenary) and adaptations for more and less-able students -Worksheets to accompany some of the activities
