This booklet is a series of tasks breaking down The Avengers TV Show from the 1960s. It tries to get students to use key vocabulary, as well as thinking about wider contexts of the TV Shows setting, representational issues and production. It could be used as an in lesson resource, or as a homework activity. The episode it focuses on is The Town of No Return (S04E01)

This resource can be used as an introduction into the case study for Radio One Live Lounge in OCR 9-1 GCSE Media Studies. There are elements of the OCR supplied guide for this unit, as well as a final question based around the question from the Sample Assessment Included is a PowerPoint that runs through both elements of the Theoretical Framework (Audience & Institution), and a work booklet that will take 2/3 lessons working alongside the PowerPoint. This should give students a good base to work off for the exam. There is also an exam question taken from the sample assessment, with a sample answer that you could change/adjust.

This resource can be used as an introduction into the case study for Music Videos in OCR 9-1 GCSE Media Studies. The two videos it features are Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk, and Beyonce - If I Were a Boy, but both of these could easily be swapped out for another two of the case study texts. There are a selection of tasks within that give a template for students to take notes from screenings, then break down the videos in more detail for media language, representation, audience and some extension questions that stretch more able students. It can serve as a Home Learning task as well, as it will take multiple lessons to complete.

This resource can be used as a preliminary activity, building up to the eventual case study for Crime Dramas in the Television and Promoting Media exam paper. It is a student work book for two other Crime Drama episodes (Luther (S01E01), Broadchurch (S01E01) - students will try and apply knowledge they have already learned based around Media Language and Media Representation (Not Audience and Institution for this resource). It can serve as a Home Learning task as well, as it will take multiple lessons to complete.

There is a breakdown in terms of the four key concepts, all of which are needed for this synoptic unit. There is a level of challenge in this worksheet, but I would suggest it is mainly suitable for students working between levels 4-7. The word document is editable if you need to add extensions. It can serve as a Home Learning task as well, as it will take multiple lessons to complete.
