Exposure - lower ability

These were made for a low ability year 11 revision class. There are two powerpoints; one for language and one for structure. There are embedded videos and use the big question with scaffolded analysis at the end. For a middle group you could easily put the two together to make one lesson and work at a faster pace.

Bitesize poetry revision questions

(0)

There are questions for three poems; Sennacherib, Exposure and What Were They Like. Each sheet has 10 questions that refer to webpages on the BBC Bitesize revision for Edexcel. This would make a great homework task, cover lesson or need some computer based revision tasks. It encourages low ability pupils to look up the answers and be more independent in their revision.

Sennacherib - lower ability

I designed this for my bottom set year 11 group. There are embedded youtube videos of the poem being read aloud plus an optional rhythmic challenge if you have any keen rappers or MCs in your class! I use the big question throughout and finish with an analysis question, including a success criteria.

Evaluation template - imaginative writing

To practise their evaluation skills needed for both AQA and Edexcel papers, this short template gives sentence stems to help. I have designed this to be used to evaluate their imaginative writing. Great to use for self assessment but also if some pupils finish sooner than other, it can help them reflect on whether they have actually finished.
