A game for two players designed to reinforce use of coordinates on a four quadrant graph. Prepared sheets (saves a lot of time and serves as examples) and blank sheet provided. Optional extra rule speeds play and promotes tactical (and logical) thinking.

These differentiated word searches were created as a tutor time activity for Y8 students. They were made with expanding vocabulary in mind. They would suit a wide range of ages. The searches in each set have the same word list and, superficially, look similar. They are differentiated by making the words progressively more difficult to find. The Bronze searches have all the words running left to right and are consequently very easy. Silver searches introduce vertical words; gold searches have diagonal words; diamond and, hardest of all, jadite have words going every which way. Some difficulty levels have two searches (e.g. SILVER1 and SILVER2) that are different but of equal difficulty. BIDMAS workbook - many BIDMAS problems with a very gradually increasing difficulty. Mental arithmetic practice - all arithmetic straightforward with non-negative integer intermediate and final values. Worked example every time a new feature is introduced. Can be broken down into individual worksheet of differing difficulty if required.

A dominoes game in which the players make number bonds. Includes variants for number bonds to 10, 20, 60, and 100. Basic mental arithmetic practice. Bonds to 60 aimed at developing clock time.

Students will make a cube containing air. The outside of the cube is patterned to illustrate the relative proportions of the main constituents of air. The result is a very visual and tactile presentation of key facts. For students of science and of interest to Geography. Also, make the net of a cube and calculate the relative size of volumes.

Attached files are worksheets designed for independent working-at-home. Gentle introduction to the idea of Tests for Divisibility from no prior knowledge. Name the country from an outline map of that country cut from the national flag. PowerPoint presentations with 14 flag-map slides per file. Aimed at my Y8s as a fun, general knowledge tutor time collective activity. Should be suitable for Y6, KS3, KS4, and older including adults. Flash cards with a variety of 2D shapes and worksheets with a shape name matching tasks in a similar style. Flash cards have image on one side and shape name on the other. Print double sided with page flip on long side (usually the default setup on printers). Three cards to a sheet. Work well when laminated. Coloured but will work in monochrome. Worksheets require the student to match shape with name by drawing a line.
