This resource includes both a Power Point and worksheet (Wanted poster template). Here the children can learn about description, and how to do it in a creative and exciting way for the reader.

This is a Power Point to help teach children about kenning poems, it includes examples of animal based kenning poems. The children will then write their own poem on an animal of their choosing. At the end they can read their poem out and the other class members can try and guess what animal they have chosen. I have used this many times and have always had great results from the children!

This is a powerpoint designed for a lesson based on using descriptive language when writing a story. I have included some images to show to the children, which they must then come up with a story based around the image they can see.

Here the children will have to label all of the shapes found on the robot. Once they have done this they can then go on to create their own robot design which they will need to label and colour.

Here are some prize ideas that could be added to a prize wheel, rewarding good behaviour for prizes. This can be edited to your class and their interests.
