AQA GCSE Jeopardy Language Device Quiz (Language and Structural Device + AOs)

(0)

This is a quiz inspired by American Quiz show Jeopardy that covers:

Language Devices

Structural Devices

Assessment Objectives (as per the AQA GCSE English Language Specification)

The Quiz is 130 slides long and covers some key devices that come up in the Language papers. It is not exhaustive but can be amended. There are sound effects and gifs included - but nothing too distracting.

It is largely designed to help students memorise either definitions and/or effects of different devices. It also has a round to ensure students remember their Assessment Objectives which I have found helped ensure they were displaying them in their work.

In the folder you will get:

The Quiz (PPT)

3x the audio files included in the quiz

Device lists that you can print out to give out to students

A printable answer sheet for the Quiz-master

Rules are included in the PowerPoint.

This quiz is in no affiliation with the US Game Show Jeopardy but has proven to be a fun activity for my higher ability KS3 students and GCSE students.

If you find anything that needs amending, please let me know!
