This resource was created to increase independent student language production and improving the quality of writing. Each student had a A5 copy stuck to the inside of their book cover ensuring support is available and also to stretch and challenge those most able. I use these literacy mats in 2 ways: (1) laminated and on a desk to be shared by students OR (2) stuck into back cover of books in A5 size These high frequency key words not only enrich student language production but also foster independent learning skills and improve the quality of writing.
