<p>This is the first lesson of Act 2 and introduces the character of Elizabeth, the loyal wife. Students will consider Miller’s commentary on her, contrast her to Abigail, and complete a 6 mark acting question based on the EDEXCEL GCSE written Drama exam. There is also an exemplar answer included.</p>

<p>A lesson on the return of the character of Hale. Students will play the interrogation of John by Hale and design a stage as homework.</p>

<p>A lesson introducing Cheever and Herrick. The quick transitions and building tension at the end of Act 2 is looked at, as well as Mary’s diminished power for her second entrance of the Act.</p>

<p>A look at first how Hale has changed, trying to still be good in the midst of corruption, then at Elizabeth for her final scene where she is pregnant and dirty but still wants to do right by her husband. An exemplar if given for a question on acting as Hale, then students do their own for an Elizabeth question.</p>

<p>These papers have cover sheets like the real paper to help with consistency, but they are NOT created or endorsed by the EDEXCEL exam board, simply what I use to help my students.</p>
<p>This is a powerpoint created to work through a walking mock of the 2018 EDEXCEL Drama GCSE paper. It includes the questions, timers, model answers, and the mark scheme. This took about three hour long lessons to go through properly. The examples are more than are required for full marks and can be edited down according to your class and their levels.</p>

<p>A lesson on Mary Warren upon her entrance in Act 2. Students will explore the development of the witch-hunt and direct the entrance of Mary, the breaking of the tension between John and Elizabeth, and direct the scene for their intended audience effect.</p>
<p>There is a direction question at the end - 12 marks with a partial exemplar.</p>
<p>Students will perform monologues from the perspective of one of the characters at the end of Act 3, peer assessing according to EDEXCEL guidelines. Then move on to opening set design for Act 4.</p>
