A low level SEN worksheet for a year 7 lesson on dissolving. Could be used as a recap starter the next lesson, or a plenary activity. It is a word document and can be edited as you wish.

This is a resource which helps SEN students to understand chromatography. It involves them colouring in the spots in 3 different diagrams to help them understand how to work out if a substance is pure or a mixture by looking at a chromatogram.

A fill-in sheet for pupils to fill in to summarise their understanding of how an element’s position in the periodic table relates to electron arrangement, size of atom, group and charge on ion. the sheet contains 4 outlines of the periodic table for pupils to add group names, electron shells by period, number of electrons in outer shell and charge on ion.
Also includes the answers to project for the students (this is shown in the preview)

A self-supporting sheet which students can use to practice substituting values from the question into science equations. They can then go on to do the rearranging. The answers are on the back of the sheet.
I have included a powerpoint with images of all the worksheet - this is not intended for use during a lesson, it is so you can view the worksheet first.

A set of resources that can be used during or after teaching the topic.
There are 2 key fact knowledge organisers which aid memorising key phrases and facts from the topic. They can be stuck into either the margin of the book or the back cover as a pullout referral sheet.
There are 5 sets of questions designed to improve retention and retrieval of the facts. I use these at the start of every lesson and then give them a test on the 5th go.
Topics can be revisited whenever appropriate or randomly to improve knowledge.

A set of worksheets to recap knowledge of tests for ions. Covers the methods, positive results, symbol and ionic equations.
Answers included for projection or self-marking.
Help sheet for a little extra support for ionic equations.

A basic knowledge organiser strip to stick in the margin when teaching chemical formulae to low ability students. There are 10 sets of fretrieval questions included which can be used for interleaving and checking understanding over an extended time frame.
I use these with my low ability sets and they really do seem to make a difference.
