Lesson which aims to develop students' reading level based on an extract from the novel Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon.
Students read an extract, then explode a quotation in detail and produce a PEE paragraph to analyse how the protagonist is presented.
This was planned for an observation.

A substantial booklet for KS4 students studying the text for their Literature exams or even KS3
Each extract has a title to tell you which stave it comes from, a brief title to sum up what extract it is e.g. ‘Tell me if Tiny Tim will live’ and a suggested essay question.
The extracts are in order of the novella so they can highlight/annotate as they read.
Also included: how the exam question will look, some information about Dickens, context, themes, a character list and character pages for students to write key-quotes.
