Stimulus Cards for A-Level in Spanish

Here are the stimulus cards I have created throughout the year in order to offer a bit more of support for Year 12 and for Year 13 students, who will be taking the Spanish A-Level exam. I am aware some cards might contain a bit more information than the one that is actually shown in the real exams but some of them therefore require a bit more of detail due to their nature. Hope you find them useful too.

This power point intends for students to explore the notion of culture and how it interrelates with their own sense of belonging. Through intercultural competence, students will get to appreciate the diversity of cultures by using a deductive approach by exploring the meaning in gestures, western vs eatern society, culture clash, etc.

It tends to be quite frequent that, when doing a photo card, our students aren’t quite certain about what to say and, especially, which verbs to use. This handout has been created as a way to help those learners who tend to get a bit confused. For those slow learners, in the top of the chart they will find the verbs which will secure an alright performance. Underneath, I’ve written some examples of the possible answers they could give, depending on the level of difficulty they wish to achieve. It’s important for them to know as well that, the more elaborated the reply is, the higher the mark will be.

These revision notes are for Year 13 students who will be doing their Spanish A-levels. Quite often, they struggle doing stimulus cards of this topic due to a lack of knowledge. These papers intend to summarise the main events happening during this period of the Spanish history in an efficient way, so that they’re successful when facing it.
