<p>SOW for 8 weeks/ 30 lessons introducing students to Conan Doyle’s most famous character. Suitable for mid-ability students. Short stories explored include The Blue Carbuncle, The Crooked Man and The Final Problem. All skills focused on are relevant for GCSE AQA Language Papers 1 and 2 AO1-3. Frequent SPAG lessons recap the use of punctuation, sentence types etc. Differentiation is built in to most lessons with activities suited target Band 5 with higher level thinking questions aimed at Band 6+.</p>

<p>Four lessons preparing students for an assessment on Jessie Pope’s ‘Who’s for the Game?’ Model analysis and model answers included to help students prepare for an assessment focusing on context and language analysis. Follow-up lesson encourages students to reflect on and improve their work. Suitable for higher ability KS3 or mid- to lower-ability KS4.</p>

<p>Introduction to poetry and language features using Eminem’s Lose Yourself (clean version) as a stimulus. Also includes a matching game for students to complete. Suitable for higher ability KS3 or mid- to lower-ability KS4. Model answer, scaffolding/sentence starters included.</p>

<p>6 week/ 28 lessons in this SOW which are suitable for higher ability Year 9/10 students. Students are taken through the full novel and explore key events, characters, themes and context. All lessons are focused on skills required to successfully answer AQA Language Papers 1 and 2 with frequent SPAG lessons to recap use of punctuation, sentence types, connectives etc. Differentiation is evident throughout with every week having an ‘all, most and some’ target.</p>

<p>Creative writing lesson using the AQA Anthology poem ‘Remains’ as a stimulus. Suitable for mid- to higher ability KS3 or lower ability KS4.</p>

<p>Full scheme of work introducing students to ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Suitable for higher ability KS3 or lower-ability KS4. Scheme of work focuses on introducing characters, context, key scenes and language analysis skills with some writing activities included. Five weeks contains 22 lessons including assessments based on previous AQA GCSE English Literature questions. Ideas for homework also included along with a booklet, which when printed, accompanies each lesson with scenes and model answers etc.</p>

<p>This SOW of 6 weeks/ 36 lessons is useful for mid- to higher ability students in preparation for both Language and Literature GCSEs. It explores the novel with students, taking them through key events, characters, themes and context. The activities also build and consolidate the skills students will need to approach Language Papers 1 and 2, including SPAG lessons to recap punctuation, paragraphs etc and prepare students for Section B of Language Paper 1.</p>

<p>Differentiated group work lesson that introduces students to key contextual factors for OMAM. Lesson plan and all worksheets also provided. Suitable for KS4 or higher ability KS3.</p>

<p>Two lessons. First lesson introduces students to COTLB and some contextual factors (Battle of Balaclava, Tennyson etc). Second lesson encourages students to work in groups (opportunity for differentiated group work) to explore the poem in more detail: Band 5 model quote analysis included. Suitable for mid-ability KS4 students studying AQA poetry anthology.</p>

<p>Full lesson that introduces students to AQA Anthology poem ‘Remains’ by Simon Armitage. Suitable for Y9 students or lower ability Y10 students.</p>

<p>Full scheme of work (6 weeks/ 22 lessons) for mid- to low-ability KS4 students. Contains WAGOLLS. WABOLLS and ensures students are fully prepared for the GCSE exam. Lessons take students through the full play, show how to structure an essay and consider class, dramatic techniques, language and context in some detail.</p>

<p>Suitable for mid-ability KS3 or lower ability KS4. Full unit of work (24 well-structured lessons) introduces students to some of the poets from the Power and Conflict AQA anthology. Includes assessments, model answers/ analyses and homework tracker. Other poetry lessons that I have published are within this scheme of work.</p>

<p>Topic based lessons suitable for KS3 or lower ability KS4. Language skills are introduced using AQA-approved sources and actvities without a question-by-question approach. Sources are all based around the idea of being trapped either physically or mentally/ emotionally. Model answers and opportunities of exploring ‘bands’ in relation to GCSE mark scheme provided.<br /> Scheme gives opportunities to develop/ consolidate reading and writing skills, including how to punctuate and use dialogue effectively.<br /> SOL document, reading and writing assessments and printable booklet with all resources and model answers included.</p>

<p>Full scheme of learning which develops students’ GCSE language skills at KS3. Extracts are non-fiction and are used to develop students’ comprehension, inference and analysis skills. Some lessons also introduce or develop synthesis and comparison skills for some of the higher-level questions on Language Paper 2. Extracts, model answers and homework included. There is a booklet for printing which contains all extracts and model paragraphs etc.</p>

<p>Two lessons on Owen’s ‘Exposure’. First lesson introduces context and the poem. Second lesson explores language etc in more detail. Model quote analysis included. Suitable for mid-ability KS4 students. Opportunity for differentiated group work.</p>

<p>Week 1 of the To Kill a Mockingbird scheme of work. 5 full lessons including resources and MTP. Lessons suitable for high abilty KS3 or lower ability KS4. Band terminology used refers to the ‘new’ Lang/Lit mark scheme, but could be altered to suit relevant school or faculty policy. Many activities are differentiated to encourage students with higher targets to engage in higher-level thinking etc. Model answers etc included.</p>
