<p>An English unit based on the book <em>The Nowhere Emporium</em> with the end result being a setting description. <em>This download contains the full 15 lesson plan, all of the differentiated resources and the flipcharts (active inspire) that were used each lesson. I have also included a PDF of the active inspire flipcharts - all links used are detailed on the plan</em></p> <p>This 3 week unit immerses the children within setting description and provides opportunity for the class to create their own book of wonders.</p> <p>This unit primarily focuses on:</p> <ul> <li>the features of a setting description</li> <li>describing the 5 senses</li> <li>expanded noun phrases</li> <li>fronted prepositional phrases</li> <li>effective vocabulary</li> </ul> <p>This unit was planned for a very mixed ability year group, ranging from year 2 ability through to GDS year 5. The resources have been differentiated with that in mind, but can be tweaked easily to fit your class.</p> <p>I also created a vocabulary book for this text which you can also find on my page.</p>

<p>A vocabulary book supporting the novel ‘Freedom 1783’ to be used during/alongside whole class reading/English teaching.</p> <p>Freedom is a parallel text to the topic of Maafa, with an abundance of vocabulary to unpick. The aim of this resource is to have picked out terms likely to be unfamiliar, presented with a definition, in most cases synonyms and in some cases, a supporting image too.</p>

<p>A mystery style application activity themed around Encanto, differentiated three ways. This has been used with a year 5 class, but could be adapted to suit the needs of your children. Or, it is ready to print! Within this mystery lesson, there are tasks that recap the following skills:</p> <ul> <li>measure (length)</li> <li>measure (weight)</li> <li>prime and composite numbers</li> <li>averages</li> <li>negative numbers</li> <li>fractions of amounts</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Answers are also included.</li> </ul> <p>This mystery could easily be adapted to suit a different context, either a film or to suit staff within your school.</p> <p>Differentiated symbol explanation;<br /> smiley face - LA<br /> star - ARE/MA<br /> moon - HA</p> <p>I endeavor to make more of these, so will post as soon as they are ready!</p>

<p>A unit of work focused on Christmas Poetry. Throughout this unit, the children will write several poems that each link to Christmas dinner. This could easily be changed and adapted to suit other elements of Christmas or even to change the theme entirely. The poem stems used all come from the book ‘A creative approach to teaching rhythm and rhyme’ written by Andy Croft- an incredible resource!</p> <p>This includes:</p> <ul> <li>full planning (12 lessons)</li> <li>flipchart to go alongside the lessons</li> <li>any resources used in the original plan</li> </ul>

<p>A5 display posters with each music note and symbol primary children are likely to come across.</p> <p>I will be posting similar resources with a similar style very soon.</p>

<p>Posters which provide a visual for which instrument fits in each section of an orchestra. This matches the other music display resources I have posted.</p>
