GCSE Eduqas Music - Musical Theatre

(0)

This is a scheme of work that covers the musical theatre part of AoS2 - Ensemble Music.

All powerpoints come with accompanying worksheets, sheets for performance, composition activity ideas, knowledge organisers, and booklets. On top of this, there are also resources for musical devices as well as consolidation homework tasks.

There are no official lesson plans, but all powerpoints are clearly laid out and include transitions for answers when required. Having no lesson structure was an intentional move because I found different classes took each topic at different paces, so simply having labelled powerpoint allows you to cover a topic effectively without the pressure of ‘having to move to the next lesson’; this also allows for freedom in doing compositional and performance tasks.
These resources have been created as a continuation to my AoS1 resources and will build on the terminology/theory covered in it.

All powerpoints are also done with a cream/yellow background so to more accessible to those with dyslexia or sight impairments.

KS3 Music - African Drumming

This is a KS3 SoW, which I have found to be successful in all year groups. It is practically driven, involves group composition, gives context as well as listening and analysing opportunities, and finishes with a practical assessment. This SoW can easily be adapted for whole class teaching, but is currently set up with teacher direction in the first couple of lessons, followed by group-based work.
This SoW includes:

5 powerpoints (this project can easily be longer, by giving more time on practising)

Student booklet to accompany worksheets

Composition sheet

SoW layout document.

KS3 Music - Eras of Classical Music

This is a KS3 Scheme of work (I currently teach it at year 9 and a simplified version at year 7) that aims to introduce students to the eras of classical music. Each era involves listening to various pieces, playing a piece of keyboard from that era, and answering theory questions. All of this is supported by a booklet that works alongside the powerpoints and will help show student progression and assessment.
There is also a scheme of work document attached, meaning all lessons are clearly explained and can quickly be copied into a cover template for a non-music specialist.
