A selection of sheets that I used in my Y2 class this year alongside some of the other resources found on here. Includes longer answer questions, cloze procedures, simple sentence construction etc. We built up to the children writing their own story based on the Owl Babies idea. We used the 'Boxing up&' sheets first to ensure the children understood the main themes and events in the story. We watched the story every day on Youtube and the children came up with actions.

A worksheet with simple problems involving measure. NB - FOR QUESTIONS 3,7 AND 8 YOU WILL NEED TO DRAW THE LINES BEFORE PHOTOCOPYING OR DISTRIBUTING TO STUDENTS. I left these blank so I could draw lines of different lengths accurately for each question.

I used these questions as a starter in a Y2 problem solving lesson. The children had mini whiteboards to write down their workings out and answers and then different children came up to demonstrate how they had found the answer on the IWB. (which gave rise to the usual ' is there another way? 'Which is the best way?' type of questions) The first few slides are about selecting useful/important information and following the WHAT DO I ALREADY KNOW? WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW? HOW WILL I FIND OUT? method. Many of the questions involve money and they involve all four operations.
