These cards detail the Edexcel GCSE unit of Superpower Relations and the Cold War. They go through each of the key events giving key details, diagrams and consequences of the most important elements of the GCSE specification. Once the cards are downladed they can easily be converted into a PDF to print into a pocket sized set of flash cards. We have been using these for 5 years now and have found that our cohorts results have significantly been impacted. They are a very useful revision tool and students of all abilities are able to access them. They have also been exceptionally useful for students who have missed a significant portion of time and wish to do some extra catchup at home.

These cards break down the key events, individuals and concepts covered in the Edexcel Early Elizabethan England unit. They are easily printable to give GCSE students a pocket sized revision resource that contains all the knowledge they need in a manageable format. I have seen significant improvement in students results since using these, particularly amongst students targeted 5-7.

This scheme of work covers German changes from 1918-1934. We look at the impact of WW1, Hyperinflation, Stresemann, The Munich Putsch, The Great Depression, and the rise of Hitler as well as other factors impacting German change in this period. All lessons are fully resourced and contain exam technique and practice in line with the AQA GCSE. This is a new scheme of work for our school having switched to a 2 year GCSE. This fits perfectly into our new KS3 year 9 plan as it is accessible but also gives students the practice and useful knowledge they will require going into GCSE in year 10.

This scheme of work is suitable for KS3 students studying conflict post WW2. Throughout the unit we examine themes of causation, change and continuity. Lessons will test a range of skills such as comprehension, source analysis, exam technique and independent practice. There are 7 lessons in the scheme consisting of: L1 - What was the Cold War? L2 - The division of Germany L3 - The Truman Doctrine + Marshall Plan L4 - The Berlin Blockade L5 - The Cuban Missile Crisis L6 - The Vietnam War L7 - The end of the USSR The course is centered around an independent project where students will decide for themselves what the main cause of conflict was after WW2. This is not essential to do though and departments can choose whether or not they complete the project with students or just do the lessons. There is a special lesson on the Cuban Missile Crisis where students take part in a situational game to see how they would have handled the crisis alongside how JFK did, this is very well received within our year 9 groups.

This is a set of medicine timelines covering the thematic approach of the Britain Health and the People AQA GCSE. The timelines are accompanied by a powerpoint containing all the information that students will require. This is best delivered by a teacher and would be ideal for an Easter/half term revision session.

This lesson covers Hitler’s road to war in the AQA Conflict and tension 1919-38 GCSE unit. The powerpoint goes through each key event in the build up to WW2 explaining the significance of the event itself. Events covered: Hitler’s foreign policy Remilitarisation of the Rhineland Anschluss Munich Agreement Nazi-Soviet Pact Appeasement Invasion of Poland Alongside the powerpoint there is a sheet that students can fill in during the lesson to create a revision resource they are able to use in preparation for their exams.

This is a series of lessons covering the main topics in the AQA Unit: America 1920-73, opportunity and inequality. Each lessons consists of a detailed powerpoint examining the key features and consequences of each event as well as a worksheet for students to fill in during the lesson. They are printable in A5 format and when printed on card last across multiple year groups. I have used them over the last 3 years and have seen results in the department consistently improve.
