<p>A range of low-resource art challenges I have been setting for my children. Each challenge is on one PDF, gives a brief overview of the task/technique/artist along with examples of the work and realistic examples of what the children’s could look like. Hopefully a time saver for someone. :)</p>
<p>Two week-long biography work booklets to support children learning at home during the closures due to Covid-19.</p>
<p>Children recap key features before children are tasked with planning and writing a biography about themselves (but in 3rd person) in week 1 and about a fictional character in week 2. Each section has a WAGOLL and then a space to complete their own, with a checklist using must/should/could. At the end there’s word banks for those that might need further support.</p>

<p>FORM: NEWSPAPER<br />
PURPOSE: TO INFORM<br />
AUDIENCE: PARENTS (VIA A NEWSLETTER)</p>
<p>A 3 week unit (11 lessons plus hook) looking at chronological reports. The final outcome is a newsletter to parents informing them of a dragon attack on the school. The slides are designed so that there’s a WAGOLL for each extended writing task, and then a word bank slide to model writing on a WB or flipchart paper using this.</p>
<p><strong>Please note:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>All documents are in PowerPoint and the font used is Twinkl (available from Twinkl’s website if you have a subscription). If you do not use this font, there will be formatting issues.</li>
<li>Starter activities are ‘back to basics’ - recapping KS1 objectives.</li>
<li>The hook requires use of an augmented reality app in your own setting (I use action movie on Apple but others are available).</li>
<li>There is so no planning session, as we plan to use the police report from the hook day.</li>

<p>Children recap key features before children are tasked with planning and writing a narratives inspired by Oliver Jeffers ‘Lost and Found’ - one closely hugging the text, the other more open.</p>
<p>Each section has a WAGOLL and then a space to complete their own, with a checklist using must/should/could. At the end there’s word banks for those that might need further support.</p>
<p>This is a ‘50 things to do before you leave’ checklist which supports our enrichment curriculum. This is designed for an infant school but could be updated/edited to be for a primary.</p>
<p>The font is ‘Ink Free’ which is standard on Microsoft word, and has been mocked up with a fictional school.</p>
<p>Hopefully it’s helpful to anyone who has been tasked with the same.</p>
<p>FORM: POETRY (CINQUAIN)<br />
PURPOSE: TO ENTERTAIN<br />
AUDIENCE: PARENTS (VIA PERFORMANCE POETRY RECITAL)</p>
<p>A 1 week unit (4 lessons) looking at cinquains. The final outcome is a poem to be recited at a parental engagement event. Short and sweet, this is a good unit to revisit word classifications with.</p>

<p>A short narrative unit which followed on from a science unit looking at the human digestive system, so children had a great deal of knowledge about this to draw upon.</p>
