RSE KS4: ACTIVE Consent

(0)
Here I introduce the ‘circle of consent’ which includes physical, verbal, emotional and biological communication of ACTIVE consent . When teaching consent it is easy to get entagled in arguments around what is ‘legally’ rape. More than just explaining laws, these slides empower and inspire students to want mutually respectful, communicative and pleasurable relationships . This content applies inside or outside marriage and for all sexualities, abilities and genders. Described as “the most important lesson I’ve ever had” by students on many occasions and as part of RSE teacher trainings. The graphics are basic but the content is highly thought out. I am putting this up for free because I would like this knowledge to benefit as many people as possible. For use with Y9 upwards. Have a good look through first. The needle swing is key. It describes the difference between the experience of the same sexual behaviour on one side where both people are a big YES and on the other one of them is NO. VERY different experiences when one person is a no. Polar in fact. It takes 2 lessons realistically. Don’t forget to trigger warning before these lessons. This content will reduce the likelihood of anyone who receives it being a perpetrator or victim of sexual violence, or having interactions they feel unsure of. For training on delivery excellent faith sensitive RSE contact cazperrysexeducation@gmail.com . I am also a Psychosexual therapist and WISH my clients had all received this at school. www.cazperrytherapy.com
