The Roald Dahl comprehensions from ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and ‘Boy’ can be used for Year 4, 5 or 6 classes, depending on their abilities. The story page is separate from the questions so that you can easily use only the story page and write your own questions if you prefer. The questions are graded and can be used as comprehension practise, baseline tests or as class tests.

Comprehension and Language activity or assessment using a poem

(0)
For use with Grade 4, 5 or 6 children depending on capability. This comprehension and language paper can be used as a class test or exam, a classroom practise exercise or even as a homework exercise. The memorandum is included. The children will use the ‘Chocoholic’ poem in place of a story comprehension, giving them a great opportunity to analyse a poem. If your children need guidance in working with a poem, this is a delightful little poem to work through as a whole class. They also have the opportunity to practise writing their own poem at the end of the paper. The language section consists of antonyms, adjectives, verbs, punctuation and the four types of sentences.
