A complete set of lesson plans for practical ‘working scientifically’ lessons in science for Y1 to Y5. Every year group has several practical science lessons linked to the curriculum. The lessons with cover working scientifically across the school and develop practical skills through the school. The lesson plans contain a clear set of instruction for the non-specialist in science primary teacher. The lessons have extension activities to extend the greater depth children.

Science - working scientifically. 14 worksheets, aimed at upper KS2. Each worksheet describes an investigation and usually gives results for the described investigation. The children have to answer questions based on the investigation. They are designed to get children to think scientifically and applying what they know. They can be used as one off pieces of work, or used in conjunction with the appropriate topic, or used for assessment. Most of the described investigations can be repeated in the classroom so they can be used as a starting point for investigation work.

A collection of maths activities to be shown on a whiteboard. They can be used as starters for a lesson or a plenary. I tend to use them as a 5 minute maths challenge at the start of the day. Most can be adapted and changed to suit the ability of the children. Some develop number and arithmetic skills, but some are good for creative, mathematical thinking.

To help my class revise for their grammar SAT I tried to put all the key facts that they need to remember onto two sides of paper. It is full of facts and tips to help them get the questions correct. Though it is quite a small font to fit all the information onto two sides, but lots of it is in colour to make it easier to read.

A set of 16 arithmetic tests at an upper KS2 standard. The first few tests have fewer questions and are a little easier to use at the start of the year (they have less fractions in them). The tests get harder and are longer so that they are at a Year 6 SAT standard.
