<p>A creative writing activity booklet (28 pages) aimed to stretched and challenge KS3 writers. The booklet has a number of activities that explore creating tension, developing emotive language and writing ghost stories.</p> <p>The booklet is intended to be completed independently. It could be used as a homework task, or alongside a story unit - such as ‘Lamb to the Slaughter’ to allow students to develop their writing skills and styles.</p>

<p>A series of creative writing tasks (stories and speeches) inspired by the Shakespeare play ‘Much Ado About Nothing’. This was used with a mixed ability year 8 class to support their understanding of characters and themes, allowing them to develop clear opinions.</p>

<p>An introduction lesson to an excerpt from the short autobiographical story ‘Beyond the sky and the earth’. The lesson is produced based on the assumption that the students have already read and familiarised themselves with the extract.</p>

<p>Two separate work packs, each containing a grid of 10 creative writing tasks, planning frames and some reading comprehension activities. The work was created for LPA and SEN year 8 students.</p>

<p>A set of sentence starters to help low ability students construct essay paragraphs that analyses the language of a text. This help sheet explores the theme of violence in ‘Lord of the Flies’ but i could easily be adapted to other essay prompts.</p>
