Spanish GCSE Vocabulary Guide

All vocabulary from AQA’s official word list for the new Spanish GCSE course

Organised according to theme for ease of planning

Online flashcards provided for all words (over 1,000 in total)

QR code links for students to scan for flashcards

Easily printable format

This booklet contains all of the vocabulary that your students require to earn a Grade 9 in the new AQA Spanish GCSE. It is intended to be printed in the format of an A5 booklet that you can provide your students with as an invaluable resource in helping them to structure their vocabulary learning over the duration of the new GCSE course.

Contained within the guide are over 1,000 words all drawn from the official vocabulary list provided by AQA in their new Spanish GCSE specification (commencing in the academic year 2024-25). I have extracted these words from the specification and then organised them according to which of the 9 topical units they correlate best with.

Each 15-20 word list is also followed by a QR code link to a set of online flashcards. Your students simply need to scan one of the 52 QR codes provided with their phone cameras to be directed to the flashcard website Quizlet. From here, they can play interactive games and test their own knowledge of each word list to ensure that they have fully memorised the vocabulary within. I recommend encouraging your students to download Quizlet’s free mobile app so that they can fully utilise the learning features that the website provides.

I have spent countless hours trawling through AQA’s clunky new GCSE Spanish word list, reorganising the vocabulary into a clear, logical format and manually creating an online flashcard set for each individual list. I am certain that my students will benefit greatly from this resource over the duration of their Spanish GCSE and hope that yours can, too.

All reviews greatly appreciated.
