End of Term/Year Quiz PPT KS3/Middle School

This is a PPT/Slides Quiz for a bit of fun at the end of a term/year. I have played the quiz with 11-16 year olds before in mixed groups.

There are 4 rounds:

Close Up Image Round,

Music Round (Guess the artist and song)

Engineering Round

Art Round

The students should be in mixed groups of between 3 - 4 ideally. They could do it in pairs too if necessary.

If you complete the entire quiz I predict it will take around 90 minutes. This is including giving out paper crowns each round to the winning team and completing a forfeit for the losing team. You could choose between rounds 3 and 4 and only complete 1 if you are short on time.

You need to prepare beforehand:

enough paper crowns for the winning teams (at the end of each round give the winners a crown each),

forfeits (idea’s could be to walk a pretend catwalk, dance for 30 seconds, impersonate a monkey - you judge depending on your class! Or just omit if necessary).

the materials available for the construction task and the art task. You could just say what is in the recycling bin plus some random items like straws, lollypop sticks, tin foil etc.

the playlist of songs - I’ve always used spotify.

somewhere for you to mark down the scores.

Here is a pack of resources for 26 Guided Reading Sessions at Year 4/5 level. A Powerpoint presentation has activities for the 26 sessions - a mix of comprehension questions, vocabulary builders and writing exercises.

Each session is around 20-30 minutes long and includes the instructions for which section to be read.

There are extension/greater depth questions/activities added into most sessions with the ***.

The questions can either be displayed via projector for the class to read and complete in their books or copied into word and printed.

I completed the sessions over 6 weeks though it could be shortened or extended.
