Here is a one off lesson, looking at how to approach the extract response for English Lit paper in Edexcel: A Christmas Carol. It has the generalised exam mark scheme in the PPT and an exam style question to work from - again all in the PPT. You would need to live model some annotation (depending on your groups ability) to start them off. Model repsonse is provided, along with the expectation of a independent task of 20 minutes. This lesson should last an hour.

This is designed with upper KS3 in mind, but can be adapted for KS4. You will find three complete introductory lessons with video links and a resource for a homework project on analytical writing. I have taken on new ideas on wider reading and included an opportunity for pupils to read a WW1 war poem to help support greater understanding and depth in the subject. This also supports retention on skills needed for GCSEs. I hope this resource is of use for you, and if so please leave a review - I would very much appreciate it!
