Guided reading comprehension lessons based on The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. Contains powerpoint lessons for each chapter, broken into daily lessons. Guidance on pages to read and questions to ask on each powerpoint. Interesting vocabulary per chapter identified for children to spot during reading. This unit is aligned to the 2005 edition of the book and references page numbers from this edition (you may need to tweak slightly if using a different edition) It covers one chapter per week with 2 or 3 reading sessions per week. Verbal and written comprehension activities are included. Each chapter starts with vocabulary to be discussed and spotted during the week. Different types of question are colour coded (aligned to Twinkl pawsome gang - see read me file for question types and alignment to VIPERS) Originally used in year 3 as whole class reading.
