Classroom History Timeline Display
This timeline (parts 1 and 2) includes details of everything that should be covered at KS3 History and some events that are covered by different exam boards at KS4/5. There are focus pages on WWI, WWII, the Russian Revolutions, Norman Conquest, the rise of Hitler, otherwise most other key events from British history between 1066 and 1990 are mentioned in detail.

It can be put up around your room and helps students understand the order of events. It has helpful arrows (for years 7-13) included that I use to indicate when we are moving along the timeline, in order to physically demonstrate a shift in time.

It has also been used by English departments, with book covers of GCSE and A-Level texts placed around the periods they were written in. This has shown to help develop students skills in applying context to texts studied.

It is 46 pages long (51 with 7 additional for arrows) so suitable to cover the width of two walls in a standard classroom or two average sized display boards (however display boards make it difficult to move the arrows around - reducing its effectiveness).
