This project incorprates units from Level 1 and Level 2 Business:

Level 1 NCFE

Managing time and workload (Unit 12)

Communication (Unit 2)

Level 2 (BTEC)

Teamwork (Unit 11)

Functional areas within business (Unit 8)

Roles and responsibilties (Unit 8)

This is a practical approach and project based task that Level 1/Level 2 Business students can engage with either at the start of the year (to test prior knowledge) mid way through the way (to support them with assignments and coursework) or at the end of the year (a bit of fun and summary of what they have learnt)

Based on the show ‘The Apprentice’, this particular project tasks the students to create their very own chocolate bar, whilst considering their branding, marketing strategy, target auidence and costs.

They will demonstrate effective teamwork, communication and problem solving throughout and eventually present their idea in a pitch to a panel of teachers who will assess them.

Students can work on their project in 1-2 lessons, or this can be something that is implemented over the course of a few weeks/months to coincide with current topics they are covering in lessons. It is a great way to get students collaborating together and getting them to use their business skills and abilities.
