Golden rule/ Teach empathy and Kindness

(1)
This is a cute story about a frog that learns the golden rule and empathy. Your students will get an idea through the eyes of another about an experience they may have had or witnessed laughing at others and what the golden rule really means. Discussion questions follow. I find it is short and to the point. Children often relate to these type of stories. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

This is a social story for those kids that have difficulty keeping their privates clothed. It uses a cute engaging turtle as a main character. The students love the story and it works and helps students understand why keeping clothes and privates private is what is expected.

This is a story written to help students understand why they may do and say things that hurt others. It is also a beginning step to learning about empathy mainly for primary aged students.I plan on writing a sequel as well that will introduce the concept of peer pressure and empathy.
Froggy, in this story, teaches us that BIG feelings can sometimes cause us to do and say hurtful things to others unintentionally.
It has a final page of basic discussion questions.

I wrote this story to assist with all the Interrupting Iggy's we all have in class. Not only does this story help the student take perspective on how their interrupting effects others, it also discusses the use of strategies without shaming them. Many social stories assume the student changes right away. This story address the fact that change is difficult. Included in this purchase is a bonus goal chart, and positive thought chart to assist with the negative thoughts many of our students with self control issues engage in. Many of my students use these tools, and love this story, I hope you will as well!

Do you have students that have difficulty paying attention and finishing class work? This is a social story I use successfully in class as a precursor to lessons about distractions. It teaches students what a distractor is, but more importantly it helps with the loss of self esteem that occurs with constant negative feedback kids with ADHD traits get at school. The message being; everyone learns differently and this is OK.
You can purchase the self monitoring chart I sell to go along with this lesson to help teach students how to self monitor using looping audible timers.
I find this to be a great start to lessons about brain breaks. I hope you do too!
