Scriptwriting is an essential element of both factual and fictional media products<br />
This assignment will focus on you producing scripts for two different formats. It will build on your knowledge of scriptwriting, interviewing skills and research.<br />
Task 1-Radio Script and Package</p>
<p>Radio Script and interview Package<br />
You will need to understand the codes and conventions of a radio factual script through primary and secondary research.<br />
You will then have to select a topic that you can produce a short radio package on.</p>
<p>Research<br />
You will need to consider the following:</p>
<p>Suitable Topic- relevant primary and secondary research</p>
<p>Codes and conventions of radio packages</p>
<p>Script format of radio packages</p>
<p>Target audience- who are they? Language, tone, style</p>
<p>Production<br />
Produce your own script that follows conventions-</p>
<p>Interview skills- you will need to interview at least one contributor as part of your package</p>
<p>Record your record package links</p>
<p>Edit your package including relevant sound techniques</p>
<p>Task 2-Fictional Script Extract and Evaluation</p>
<p>This section of the assignment will focus on producing a fictional script and evaluating your creative journey. You will need to produce a five-minute fictional script extract that conforms to the codes and conventions of your selected format.<br />
Research<br />
You will need to consider the following:<br />
Codes and conventions of your selected format<br />
Target audience- Who are they?<br />
Narrative structure- Exposition, characters, genre.<br />
Production</p>
<p>Produce a treatment for your selected extract that outlines character, narrative overview and target audience</p>
<p>Produce script extract of five-minute sequence that conforms to selected format</p>
<p>Evaluation</p>
<p>You will need to produce an evaluation of both radio package and your fictional script.</p>
<p>You will need to get audience feedback on both products and critically evaluate the merits of the products.</p>
