Here are my first few attempts at making comprehension texts for my Literacy set. They are simple stories that I have written or extended from others that I have read. Some have phonic sound focuses and include phase 5 words. They are the original versions but can be adapted by reducing the content of the story and altering the question style. I have used these with my year 2s and as there is a fair range of ability in the class I have adapted them accordingly. Match the analogue, digital and time in words using a different colouring pencil for each set. Editable worksheets: Teacher will need to draw on the clock hands and write in digital times that match the words before photocopying. :) Alternatively chn can be given a blank copy of the sheet to create their own questions for a friend as an extension / peer assessment.

Identify and match the contractions by colouring the pairs. Used as an introduction, chn will then be given sentences with missing apostrophes to correct / write their own sentences using the contractions correctly.
