A spreadsheet which allows you to track the key skills covered in all 12 of the AQA A-level Chemistry course. The practicals and skills have been taken from the current practical handbook for AQA Chemistry.

Each student is assigned a tab to individually track their competence in each of the CPAC areas. These can be assigned as Achieved, Mostly Achieved, Not achieved or Absent. These are then colour coded green, yellow, red and res respectively. This will give you a quick overview of the student’s competency as they progress throughout the course.

Core skills specific to the chemistry course are tracked automatically based on the student’s attendance to each practical as detailed in the practical handbook.

All key information i.e. student name, attendance dates are automatically carried across the to each individual sheet.

The spreadsheet is currently designed for 15 students but can be extended upon request. I have designed these myself following a visit from the exam board in which we passed with flying colours.

UPDATE: I have uploaded the file again as one user experienced a technical difficulty. If any further problems occur please e-mail directly at psteele @ shs.saet.co.uk

Learning journey for AQA A-level Chemistry. It reflects the order in which we teacher Chemistry in our school so it is not in the exact order of the specification.

Set of physics equations displayed in formula triangles (where available) for the new AQA GCSE Trilogogy in science. This contains the equations the students need to RECALL and apply, as well as meanings and units.

I recommend the equations are printed on A3 paper for maximum effect. They can also be colour coded for similar units or displayed as black on white for greater contrast.

I have these displayed at the back of my classroom so students can’t cheat on assessments! I hope someone finds this useful.
