An engaging and interactive lesson with several different activities for students to complete. Resources designed to run specifically alongside the OCR Philosophy of Religion A-Level, but easily adaptable to other specifications. Includes a card sort on different philosophical approaches, a colour code activity for philosophical views on religious experience, and a recall game for students to do their own research in groups, on whether or not religious experience is sufficient evidence for the existence of God. Evaluation activity also included.
Discussion cards to hand out to students whenever there is class discussion or debate. The cards include a checklist for oracy to encourage students to share their ideas clearly, and sentence starters for them to start their discussion points with. Each card is colour coded accorded to level. Red are easiest, orange slightly harder, and the green are more challenging. Cards are distributed at the start of the lesson and then when students have used them correctly, they can hand them back in and exchange for a reward of your choice.

Lesson and activity to introduce students to the concept of worldviews and how/why their own opinions are important. Lesson includes a speed dating activity for students to interview one another about their own beliefs and the things that have impacted on how they have formed their opinions. Lesson has been used for yr8 but would work for any year group. A good introductory activity to get students thinking about why other people’s ideas and beliefs are important.
PowerPoint on Ramsey's view of analogy and a number of different interpretations. An interactive board game activity included with helpsheet, worksheet to evaluate and extension tasks. Some revision activities included at the start of the lesson too for the Via Negativa. Homework activity also included.

This resource pack takes you through the first half of theme D for the new Religious Studies GCSE (to start teaching September 2016) and contains approximately 10 hours of teaching material and homework tasks. There is a PP included that runs through all the lessons clearly, and can be used to accompany and support teaching if required. There are also a number of additional resources labelled for the lessons that they correspond with. The booklet is 20 pages long and each page has a number of different activities on, designed to be engaging and student-led. There are key word lists, quotes and practise exam questions included. As this is a new SoW this booklet reflects hours of work and research. The booklet is entirely my own work, however some parts of the PP have been adapted from previous resources, some sections of which have been adapted from other users. Please review!

The resource pack contains approximately 6 hours of teaching and everything you need is provided. It covers marriage, cohabitation, same-sex marriage and divorce. There is a PP included that runs through lessons clearly, and can be used to accompany and support teaching if required. The booklet includes extension tasks throughout, practise exam questions, quotes and homework tasks. There are also a couple of extra resources provided to support lessons where required. N.B. A couple of ideas have been adapted from existing resources.
Word document containing 200 quiz questions broken down by topic for yr13. Covers life after death, revelation and holy scripture, religious experience, nature of God, miracles and religious language. Questions can be used as starters/plenaries but also provide excellent revision for students to use themselves.
