Le Poussin Piou - French Farm Animals & Noises

(1)
Simple lesson originally created for a Year 6 induction day at secondary school, but could easily be used as a primary school French lesson. Worksheet has colour in animals and a space for both the French name of the animal and the noise that animal makes in French. Presentation contains pictures of the animals, their names and their noises in French for the class to listen and repeat, then copy on to their sheets. The numbers on the final slide each link back to an animal and the little chick at the bottom right links back to the numbers slide. The blank slides are necessary for the presentation to work (otherwise the name and noise of the animal would be visible when clicking the numbers). After the class has practised the noises of the animals, play the video and get the class to shout out the animal noises each time they come on screen!

Have the kids (or even big kids!) colour their eggs and cut them out. Blu-tac the eggs to the projector screen for a colourful display. Play a game of Platsch! if you have time. (Instructions are on the slide notes) Enjoy!
