An activity which gets students to assess the importance of key events in An Inspector Calls.<br />
It also provides opportunity for students to produce a bank of useful quotations.
This lesson provides an opportunity to revise:<br />

-key characters and what they might symbolise<br />
-how the chapter headings can be useful quotations<br />

A set of 8 lessons used to revise the new spec AQA Love and Relationships poetry cluster. Ideal for mixed ability, with challenge questions throughout for higher ability. Each lesson follows a similar pattern, with a revision grid to fill out each lesson. Unseen tasks built in as settler/starter tasks. There are also a couple of Romeo and Juliet/Sign of Four starter tasks to improve memory of the wider English exam, however these can easily be adapted for alternative texts studied.

A revision lesson for Language P1 Q5. It requires the class to revise the differences and similarities between descriptive and narrative writing. It then moves on to focus on writing to describe. Links can be made to Q3 and structuring their writing to shift in focus.

<p>A knowledge organiser used with Y9, with a focus on GCSE skills - Language Paper 2, Q4 and Q5. Topic is centred around prejudice, identity and discrimiation, with a focus on slave narratives. Reading and writing section included.</p>
Lesson gets students evaluating the poems from the Love and Relationships cluster and forming a personal response. They will then spend time closely analysing quotations before thinking about how they might compare. No book work involved. Lesson is designed to get students moving and actively engaged in the poetry. Useful for final revision before the exam.
This resource was designed for World Book Day with Y9. It seeks to embed some of the key skills required for AQA Language Paper 1 Q3 - focusing on structural analysis. It can easily be used at GCSE. Used with mainly Set 1 in Y9.
This lesson has a starter using the Sign of Four as a platform for a Language Paper 1 Q3 response (quick revision of method).<br />
The rest of the lesson focuses on developing understanding of opposites in Romeo and Juliet. It is extract based, with a model PEAL to scaffold.
