Three PowerPoints, a cloze exercise and a copy of the short story 'Lamb to the Slaughter' by Roald Dahl. I used this with a low-ability year nine group but it should also work with year seven and eight. The lessons look at character descriptions and also address how tension and suspense are created. I have included the link to the 'Tales of the Unexpected' television show.
A PowerPoint presentation and Word document suitable for year ten students at the beginning of their studies on Macbeth. It includes activities and information on James I, and connections between Macbeth and the Gunpowder Plot.
A PowerPoint for two lessons on 'Ozymandias'. I have colour-coded the AOs to match the tasks. Also attached is: a sheet about Shelley; a poetry grid for the whole of the Power & Conflict cluster; a storyboard sheet and a homework sheet for final consolidation.
A list of possible exam questions for AS students. My students mind-mapped their responses using the AOs as a guide to ensure they had thorough revision notes.
