<p>A powerpoint task giving the children a budget and they have to plan their own party using some of the items on the slides and make decisions to ensure they get all the essentials. Prices can be edited or descriptions made more specific to ensure children have so much of every item and to make it easy / harder for other year groups.</p>

PowerPoint resource of 4 lessons to enable children to model writing based on J.K Rowling. Gives the children chance to look at the individual elements and then try writing their own parts. This is the starting point before the children will be given an opportunity the following week to change the characters and setting. <br /> Breaks down the story into opening, build-up, problem, resolution and ending.<br /> Can be easily changed or adapted depending on story.

Used with Year 6's. Children watched the videos and discussed, noting down key ideas on their whiteboards. Current popular remembrance poems included for discussion. Children then filled in the poppy planning sheet. This was used before the children produced a poem of 4 stanza's on poppy petals. Easily editable.

Used with Year 6's to get the children thinking about ways to describe a pumpkin using higher level vocabulary and personification, similes etc. They then used the planning sheet to create a 'What am I?' Poem. Would also be able to be used for a descriptive piece.<br /> LA sheet included suitable for Yr/3<br /> Sheet can be easily adapted.
