Spartan Warrior diary
Please find attached planning, activities and PPT for a piece of work for year 3. We looked at a the diary entry of a Spartan warrior using Talk for Writing start by learning the text the children worked towards creating their own diary.
I have taught a number of grammatical aspects through the original text, and adaptations of the text. Our school works through a specific process:
Guided Work:
A shared text that the children read together and discuss, the text will showcase the aspect of grammar I will teach for that lesson.
Independent Work:
This it where the children have a go and is normally self marked, they children either identify the feature of have a go a using in in a way I have modeled on the board. When self marked I would gather together a small intervention group if necessary to recap what I have taught and provide further scaffolding for them.
Applied work:
This is where the children have a go at applying their skills.
Most of the resources I used are here, however some of the examples of text I used for class purposes I did not have permission to use so I have not included these but they are easily available to find through Google.
