The Curly hair Project (CHP) is an award-winning social enterprise founded by autistic author and entrepreneur Alis Rowe. She spent her whole life feeling really isolated and ‘different’ and didn’t want anyone else to have these feelings. At the age of 22 years, Alis was diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum and when searching for support from written material, she couldn’t find anything that resonated with herself. So, she thought she would set up a Facebook page and reach out to others who may feel the same. This was the start of Curly Hair Project. www.thegirlwiththecurlyhair.co.uk
