<p>Interactive lesson starting with a fun activity at the beginning testing how well students can remember the hazard symbols using the mini whiteboards.</p> <p>The lesson is for KS3 classes (I used it with bottom set Year 7 and it worked well). It is based on properties of acids and alkalis, where they can be found and an interactive activity where they can put some universal indicator into a selection of different liquids and identify if they are acidic, alkaline or neutral. Challenge activity provided for higher ability students.</p>

I made this Tarsia puzzle as I couldn't find any online with the new updated symbols that students need to know for the new Physics AQA GCSEs. <br /> <br /> Tried this out with my students and they had great fun solving it together in their groups! <br /> <br /> Great activity for a starter or plenary, or a way to help them to revise the symbols.

<p>Lesson on Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion with a lot of examples of interaction pairs, how to identify them and examples for students to apply this to. A demo of a teacher and a student pushing each other on skateboard is recommended to see how the equal forces have different effect on different masses. Final activity is to identify action and reaction pairs with answers provided.</p>

<p>Very helpful way to remember all of the equations for the new Physics 9-1 AQA equations. Doing this activity and testing students on all of the equations for 1 month will most definitely help your students memorise all of the equations! As they walk in, give them a blank strip of paper, write down the sentence to help them remember and get the students to write down all of the equations.</p> <p>Great way to remember all of them. Has worked exceptionally well for my students and I know that it definitely will for yours too!</p> <p>If you have a different, better, silly sentence to remember the equations, let me know!</p>

<p>Differentiated resource used for top set Year 8 class on halogens, their displacement reactions and risks when using them.</p> <p>Loads of opportunities to stretch and challenge students and also lots of support and scaffolding for the weaker ones.</p>

<p>This is a lesson pack for my final official NQT lesson observation. In the previous lesson, I went through the method with the class, so they had it written in their books for this lesson and knew what they had to do.</p> <p>The presentation has differentiated steps on what to do for the investigation and plotting the graph. It has a success criteria followed by a model answer for each part, which helped students to peer assess their work. This is followed by a list of WWWs and EBIs to help them give each other formative feedback and also a mark out of 11.</p> <p>Research H/W opportunity for Hooke’s Law to link this onto the next lesson.</p> <p>Plenary activity is to apply their knowledge from their investigation to exam-style questions. The document has two questions per page (one for each student) with the mark scheme on the next page. The answers to the previous questions are in the reversed order to help with printing double-sided. For this activity, students had the chance to answer the question first, looking at the mark scheme and understanding the question better. They then go around the classroom and get 3 other students to answer their question and they explain to them whether they are correct or not and why. There are 6 different questions, so students should be able to answer a question that is different to their own.</p> <p>Final activity if there is time, is to spot the scientific and SPaG mistake on the statement on the presentation. Students work together in groups to identify the mistake and the answer is revealed. Fun finishing activity which will keep students very engaged at the very end of the lesson!</p>

<p>Lesson used for low-ability Year 7 group on the states of matter, their properties and particle arrangement.</p> <p>For the higher ability students, they can try and write down the properties of the states of matter without looking at the support list on the board and see how many they managed to get.</p>

<p>Key features of sound waves: an interactive sound test to see who is the ‘youngest’ in the class followed by key features of sound waves using demonstrations in class. Extension questions available on some of the slides and a derivation of the formula for echoes. Modelled answer on using the formula, videos and quiz available on the PPT.</p>

<p>Lesson for top set Year 9 class. Involves using energy transferred to a kettle to demonstrate that the electrical energy from the mains is not totally transferred to heating the water, arising the question of where the rest of the energy goes.</p>

<p>Here I have collated the top mark questions from the 2018 AQA GCSE Maths papers, which go through a very student-friendly method of answering them.</p> <p>This helped my GCSE classes significantly as they were able to learn exactly how to answer these tougher, more intimidating questions using a clear layout and systematic way of thinking.</p> <p>There are lots of animations in this presentation, highlighting important parts of the question and giving lots of hints.</p> <p>This approach gave my students, who were in middle sets, a huge amount of confidence to answer these types of questions in the exam that summer.</p> <p>Please buy my resource and check out the other AQA marked papers I have up!</p> <p>Thank you</p>
