<p>This is a unit of work for a mixed ability Year 11 class, using poetry written by African Americans and the historical context of their plight for equality. The resource includes:<br /> Power-point 113 slides<br /> Booklet to accompany the power-point<br /> Model exemplars<br /> Group/paired tasks<br /> Scaffold for the assessment (sentence starters)<br /> Suggested poems for assessment<br /> Video links to explore context</p> <p>This unit was successful. Through the class tasks, students learned how to pull techniques from the poems (I used the same 5-6 techniques for each poem) and link their usage to the context. It took around 6-7 weeks to prepare them for the assessment and the resource should cover this time period.</p>

<p>Bundle of 5-6 lessons. Begins with a non-fiction text and a detailed look at the Cambridge assessment criteria for that question. The bundle contains lessons for 4 different extracts (mix of fiction and non-fiction). Each extract has an accompanying power-point and scaffolded resources, including exemplar responses and detailed breakdowns of the paragraph structure. Lessons include group work and peer/self assessment tasks.</p>

<p>This is a full unit of work covering unseen prose,poetry and drama. I taught this unit over 20 lessons, but did not get all the tasks done due to time constraints. The bundle includes collections of poems, prose and drama extracts; scaffolded tasks for approaching unseen texts; group tasks and some model exemplar responses. <p>This has been created for teaching Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure- new text for A level, Cambridge. The scheme contains 30+ lessons, including: context intro lesson, power-points which have step by step annotation of key extracts from all acts, detailed technical (language and dramatic impact) analysis, character/theme analysis, starter activities, peer assessment, group work, paragraph scaffolds, learning objectives and built in challenge tasks.</p>
