<p>Autism is a very common condition and many children on the autistic spectrum will be educated in mainstream schools. Sometimes autistic behaviours can be confusing or frightening for neurotypical children who do not understand. It can often be difficult for teachers to explain to their classes, and also difficult for parents to explain to their ASD children. So I created this child-friendly sheet to explain autism in a positive but open manner, to hopefully help classmates be more accepting of diversity, to exercise more compassion and empathy towards those who struggle and to promote an inclusive learning environment. It is aimed at KS2 pupils (7-11) but could also be read aloud to KS1 kids or given to older pupils. Most of the course participants were busy professionals with a high level of existing skills and knowledge, but they often struggled to pinpoint what content was needed in order to evidence the criteria in the written assignments. I created a series of workbooks for each of the 3 units of the award to act as classroom activities to complete during the course, to act as a reference point for learners when completing their written assignments, and to complement the evidence portfolio if any of the criteria had been missed in the body of the written assignments.</p> <p>This is a collection of three 22-page workbooks to accompany the teaching of City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training, based on the criteria in units 301, 302 and 305.</p>

<p>I am in the process of developing a series of spelling activities to aid children in the learning of the National Curriculum Key Stage 1 word list.</p> <p>I have seen many US ‘sight word’ worksheets of a similar style, but have not found any resources specifically tailored to the UK national curriculum, so I thought I would create these myself. I am releasing a free sample of the booklet in order to see how much demand there is for it, and to gather feedback on what I have done so far.</p> <p>These worksheets are intended as an additional resource to support children in learning their weekly school spellings, home educated children who do not have weekly spelling tests, pupils who need to practice letter formation and to support older students with gaps in their spelling knowledge.</p> <p>The contents page in the free sample details all the words that the full, completed booklet will contain.</p> <p>I also plan to develop Key Stage 2 materials in future (depending on the success/demand of the Key Stage 1 materials).</p>
