Resource can be used as either a lesson or activity. It is focused on religious attitudes (in both Christianity and Islam) as well as broader moral viewpoints to the role of corporal punishment in contemporary society.

The resource intends to educate students about religious and moral viewpoints, and encourages group discussion, facilitated by the teacher leading the activity. The delivery of this resource may culminate in each student writing their own 12 mark response to the statement.

This assessment is based around the topics covered in the Pearson Edexcel GCSE Science SB4 unit, though can be used as an assessment to test knowledge around 'Darwin's Theory, Classification, Evolution, Genetic Engineering/GMOs in Farming and Fertilisers/Biological Controls' without use of the book.

Please note that the resource is paid as it took some time to produce and is not available for editing and redistribution without permission. Thank you!

A high level GCSE English Literature response to the question, posed in the style of the new AQA Literature Paper 1 exam, ‘How far is Lady Macbeth presented as a weak character?’, a 30 mark (+4 SPaG) question.

The resource could be used to demonstrate good areas of analysis, or could be critiqued by students to improve their ability. The response was written by a year 11 student.

A useful, detailed resource providing analysis of quotations pertinent to the theme of gender and, more specifically, the Role of Women in the GCSE English Literature text ‘An Inspector Calls’.

The resource makes reference to Sheila, Eva Smith and both Mrs and Mr Birling, providing apt and pithy quotations from each personage and a concise yet precise analysis of their attitudes, considering contextual and broader thematic factors as well.

“The way he spoke to Mr Birling and me”
Even here, in her state of triumph and victory-induced elation, Mrs Birling remains unable
to remove the shackles of her gender, remaining beholden to the traditional respectful
relationship she must maintain towards her husband. Though his behaviour towards her
has been less than endearing throughout the evening, she continues to address him as ‘Mr
Birling’, alluding to the idea that marriage is little more than a contact between two people
with greater emphasis on derived business prospects than love and affection.

“…is it the one you wanted me to have?”
Sheila, at this point in the play so naive and, as some would argue, ignorant, engages in
total subservience towards Gerald here, the true embodiment of the pre-1912 female
mode of life. Aligning herself with the socio-political views of her mother, her first priority is
pleasing the man to whom she is engaged. Even in this situation, a period during which it
is the sole target of the man to please his wife-to-be, she still defects to the traditional
outlook on female freedom and choice, questioning whether it is the gift he wanted her to
have.

A comprehensive set of revision notes covering all main characters (including Edna) in an Inspector Calls.

The resource explores all characters in detail, including their roles in the narrative and how different quotations (which are analysed in detail) help to enhance our perception of their characterisation.

The resource is targeted at those aiming to enhance their levels of analysis, and particularly those aiming for grades 8 or 9 in English Literature GCSE.

Please note that some avenues of analysis in this resource were provoked by the resource found at: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/an-inspector-calls-gcse-revision-context-characters-and-themes-easy-grade-9-11797949

A resource pertinent to any study of Macbeth, but produced from study of the AQA English Literature GCSE course. It is used most effectively as a revision resource, but could also be used as part of an initial study of the text.

The resource is excellent for revision (especially after some time away from the text, following holidays, different areas of study, etc), offering not only a brief summary of the play and the way in which we as the audience react to the actions of the character (a critical area of high-level analysis, as outlined by the AQA markscheme) but also analysis and explanation of key quotations relating to Macbeth himself.

The final slide offers a very brief timeline designed to rekindle existing knowledge held by students from previous understanding of the text.

This resource tests the knowledge of students on ethics, legislation and the workings of computer systems - important units for the Computer Science GCSE. It is split into sections A-E, with each section accounting for a different part of the course.

Marks are given for each question and a cover sheet is included to title the assessment.

The test is worth 59 marks so it is advised that students are allowed upwards of 45 minutes to an hour.
